Hello! This is interesting to see, is it not? I spent some time making my own blog-like format for my website! I figured it would be more interesting and definitely more website-y if I had blog posts to chronicle my website news and updates. So, here we are! Unlike other static site generators and blog stuff like that, this is all manual, though I plan (lol) to eventually code/hack together some program to make blog posts automatically.
What's cool is that now I can tell you in a cool way what's been updated on my site! I started using VS Code to prototype my design and I'm looking into buying more robust hosting outside of neocities to host a forum. I'm from Tumblr, but like many social media places, it's quickly going bellend up and me and my friends are scrambling to find a new place to settle. While I can't promise a whole social media experience, maybe a forum is what we all need. And god knows, I need my band shitposts.
My only issue is funding. While I can probably fund it myself, paying for a domain, hosting, and neocities every day will add up quick and I'm a little afraid to make that commitment, because I can't turn back once I do. Yes, I work, and I do commissions, but just because I get a discount for my first year or so for certain things doesn't mean I will have the money in the future. I'd feel bad asking for money, especially for a personal project, but it might be required. I'll see. Maybe this whole thing won't be worth it and we'll find ourselves on some other Twitter/Tumblr like or only stay in contact through Discord.
But I'd like to hope that this time will be different.
